Intestinal flora is the term used to describe the protective layer that forms on the surface of the intestine. It consists of approximately 500 different positive and negative bacterial species, totalling roughly 100,000 billion individual germs.
With balanced intestinal flora, dominated by positive cultures, the human being lives right from birth in an essential symbiosis, responsible for the regulated digestion of nutrients, the activation of the immune system and defence against undesired micro-organisms.
The natural diversity of the intestinal flora requires the simultaneous intake of several principal cultures in high concentrations so that an optimal probiotic effect for the intestinal flora can be achieved.
I. BacteFlora Plus 10/20® consists of a very wide range of probiotic cultures:
1. Bifidobacterium bifidum 6. Lactobacillus delbrueckii subsp. bulgaricus
2. Bifidobacterium breve 7. Lactobacillus fermentum
3. Bifidobacterium longum 8. Lactobacillus rhamnosus
4. Lactobacillus acidophilus 9. Lactobacillus plantarum
5. Lactobacillus casei 10. Lactococcus lactis
These ten cultures are marked out by their independent and important individual functions and are precisely coordinated in terms of their concentrations in order to complement one another as well as possible.
The broad spectrum also offers the advantage that all sections of the gut are reached, as lactobacilli possess the ability to colonise the small intestine and bifidobacteria the large intestine.
Bifidobacteria are the cultures which occur most frequently in the gut at all ages, although their share of the overall intestinal flora starts to diminish from the age of about 50. These two insights are taken into account by the mix of cultures in BactoFlor 10/20®, which contains an adjusted proportion of bifidobacteria.
II. BacteFlora Plus 10/20® is highly concentrated, containing 20 billion (20x109) colony forming units (CFU) per capsule; this increased quantity guarantees ideal daily supply.
III. BacteFlora Plus 10/20® contains inulin. This is prebiotic dietary fibre that makes its way undigested to the large intestine and is used as food by the friendly, desirable bacteria, allowing their numbers to increase.
IV. The cultures contained in BacteFlora Plus 10/20® are by nature able to withstand stomach acids and survive the passage through the stomach without losses. An innovative microencapsulation process makes the cultures robust and assures their shelf life, concentration and quality throughout the entire period of storage.
V. In order to protect the sensitive micro-organisms from the damaging effects of oxygen and water vapour during storage the capsules are packaged in alu-alu blisters, as this high-quality packaging form offers maximum protection from the influences named above.
VI. BacteFlora Plus 10/20® is free of fructose, gelatine, yeast, gluten, lactose, genetically modified organisms, artificial colourings, preservatives and sugars, and is thus particularly suitable for use by people with food allergies.
Recommended dose:
1 capsule 1-2 x daily after meals, along with sufficient fluid. It is recommended to take BactoFlor® 10/20 over a period of three months. BactoFlor® 10/20 is also suitable for long-term consumption.
