An effective solution in the treatment of benign prostatic hypertrophy
Benign Prostatic Hypertrophy (BPH) which is a gradual and normal growth of prostate tumor refers to 2 out of 3 men over 50. With increasing volume, the prostate puts pressure on the urethra causing various symptoms such as dysuria, urgency to urinate, frequent urination with little urine and nocturia, which over time become more and more annoying. BPH is caused by the accumulation of testosterone in the prostate, which under the influence of an enzyme (5-a-reductase) is transformed into dihydrotestosterone (DHT), thereby inducing the proliferation of prostate cells causing hypertrophy. Clinical studies have shown that frequent dose of about 320 mg Serenoa repens, reduces by 28% and voiding symptoms by 23% the nocturia. The fruits of Serenoa repens inhibits the enzyme 5-alpha-reductase, thereby reducing the stimulation and proliferation of prostate cells. Thus the volume of the prostate is reduced without any adverse effects. Also, the fruit of Serenoa repens helps in cases of androgenic alopecia.
